Thesis Assignment Procedure

Theses are assigned twice a year. The lists of available topics are published:

  • in May and

  • in December.

Please note the following application deadlines:

  • July 15 for the May topic list

  • February 15 for the December topic list

Please send your application (only one topic per person) via e-mail to pnp(at)jku.at.

The final decision on topic assignment will be communicated by the end of July or end of February, based on the applications received.

Your application should include:

  • Your contact details

  • Information about your study program

  • Details of courses you have taken at our institute

  • The selected thesis topic, along with a few sentences describing your planned approach to the topic

Important Information:

Even though our subject area is explicitly included in the curriculum of certain degree programs – such as the Master in Finance and Accounting or Social Economics – we also welcome applications from students in other master’s programs where Public and Nonprofit Management is not formally part of the curriculum.

The prerequisite is that the chosen topic is relevant to the institute’s field of expertise and that supervision by one of our faculty members is feasible.

However, please ensure that your degree program allows you to write your thesis at our institute, and take note of any specific requirements regarding the master thesis seminar in your study program.
